This session will provide aspiring and established photographers an overview of essential business information they need to be successful in today’s photo industry. Topics will include the business basics of negotiating and estimating jobs, the licensing model, and the role of proper paperwork, from terms and conditions through delivery memos and invoicing. We’ll explore the various photography markets, entry level concerns, and the impact the digital age has had on the profession. Included also will be a review of copyright law and registering images as well as nuts and bolt concerns like insurance, business plans, and marketing yourself. The session is well-grounded, with real world examples and resource links to give you an edge in the competitive photo business.. |
